Cash register & Clients database for three flower shops
For the 'Bloemewinkel' we developped a centrally managed cash register for the three flowershops in Turnhout, Merksplas & Rijkevorsel. Because speed of use is very important at a cash register, we did not make use of a webapplication but a Windows application that connects to a SQL server database over the internet by use of an XML webservice. The SQL Server database and the webservices are hosted in our datacenters and are in real-time accessible from the three flower shops.
Because only a small amount of data is transferred to the database, the cash register is not slowed down and can run on a simple dsl or cable internet connection in the three shops. The cash register is also connected to the clients database: it does not matter in what shop the client buys his favorite flowers, his membership card is available in every shop, in real-time.
Stock management & optimalisation
The software also offers a stock management system for the three shops. Every evening the stock can be optimized between the three shops, and as flowers don't last forever this means no unnecessary overstock in one shop or a shortage in the other shop. This means real business value for the shop owners!
